About the role: We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Counsel. As a key member of the leadership team, you will manage all legal and compliance matters within the company. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead a team of 6-8 legal professionals, and play a critical role in shaping the company’s legal strategy and risk management framework.
What you will do:
- Legal Strategy: Provide strategic legal counsel to the CEOs and leadership team, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 6-8 legal professionals, promoting collaboration and high performance.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks in contracts, intellectual property, employment, and regulatory compliance.
- Litigation Management: Supervise litigation and work with external counsel.
- Compliance: Develop and manage compliance programs, ensuring adherence to laws on anti-corruption, data privacy, antitrust, and more.
- Contracts & Agreements: Lead contract negotiation and review to protect the company’s legal interests.
- Corporate Governance: Oversee key policies and procedures to ensure strong ethical leadership and compliance with governance principles.
Who we are looking for:
- Legal Expertise: Extensive experience in corporate law, litigation, compliance, risk management with a deep understanding of how legal strategies impact business operations.
- Proven Experience: At least 12 years of legal experience, including 5 years in a senior in-house role with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
- Team Leadership: A strong track record of leading, mentoring, and inspiring teams of legal professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and high performance.
- Business-Oriented Mindset: A strategic, hands-on leader who influences and aligns legal strategies with business objectives and works closely with founders and C-Suite to drive success. You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and make smart, prioritized decisions to address high-impact legal issues.
- Effective Communicator: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels and across departments, ensuring clear and efficient legal counsel company wide.
