What you will do:

  • Leading the Global Tax & Customs Team: You effectively manage a team of 15 people(FTEs) with5 people reporting directly to you and located mainly in our Lisbon and Frankfurt offices as well as a few team members in Manila and Mexico City. 
  • Develop and own the Company Tax & Customs Strategy: Define and evolve a forward-looking roadmap that supports our growth ambitions while optimizing tax outcomes. 
  • Lead proactive Tax & Customs Planning: Design and implement tax-efficient structures and initiatives to minimize overall tax burden across jurisdictions. 
  • Build and Empower Your Team: Strengthen and structure both group-level and regional tax teams, setting clear roles, processes, and career development paths to drive top performance and engagement. 
  • Responsible for streamlining Tax Reporting & Accounting globally: Optimize and automate tax data collection, reporting workflows, and accounting processes—freeing the team to focus on high-value advisory work. 
  • Manage Risk via a Tax Compliance Management System (TCMS): Own the design, rollout, and continuous improvement of our TCMS to ensure consistent controls and oversight. 
  • Drive Tax Compliance Initiatives: Proactively identify and close compliance gaps; lead cross-departmental initiatives that reduce the company’s exposure to audits, penalties, and reputational risk. 
  • Manage External Relationships: Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with tax authorities, external advisors, and investors. 
  • Advise Senior Leadership: Provide clear, actionable tax guidance & present risks and opportunities to C-Level. 
  • Foster Tax Awareness Across the Business: Develop communications, stakeholder engagement programs and training so that tax considerations are embedded in decision-making at all levels. 

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or related field; Steuerberater/in desirable. 
  • 10+ years of tax experience, combining Big Four and/or national firm expertise with in-house leadership at a dynamic company. 
  • Deep knowledge of corporate income, indirect and withholding taxes across multiple jurisdictions. 
  • Experience building or transforming tax functions—structuring teams, processes, and systems for scale. 
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills; adept at interfacing with tax authorities, advisors, and investors. 
  • Excellent communicator and influencer, capable of embedding tax-risk awareness into commercial and operational teams. 
  • Hands-on familiarity with TCMS frameworks and ERP and tax software (e.g. Dynamics 365). 
  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, champions continuous improvement, and leads by example in a fast-paced scale-up environment.
