Our Open Internship Positions
Frequently Asked Questions
Who are eligible for internships?
We don’t hire for experience; we hire for potential. Any undergraduate or post-graduate students are eligible to apply to our internships. Check out our “Life at Emma” page to see if you’ve got what it takes to be an Emma DNA fit!
How long should my internship at Emma be?
Internships should be at least 6 months full-time to ensure proper integration and growth. There is the possibility to extend up to 12 months in total.
Do I need to be enrolled in a university to intern at Emma?
No, enrollment is not required. If your university requires an internship agreement, we’re happy to sign it.
Can Emma sponsor my visa for an internship?
To work in Portugal or Germany, you need a visa valid for the duration of your internship or an Erasmus agreement.
Does Emma offer remote internships? What are the work arrangements like?
Emma does not offer remote internships at the moment. The key reasons for Emma being an office-first environment are: The success of our business is based entirely on teamwork - the people, the culture and our approach to working together in an agile and smart way. The best way to foster this success factor is by maximising the time we spend together in the office. The best way for new Emmies to learn, adapt and grow is through the example set by older Emmies and the many brief or informal interactions that take place in an office setting. Creativity and entrepreneurship are often best in informal, face-to-face interactions - whether it's the moment you leave a meeting room and talk to a colleague about that one idea you had, or simply dropping by someone’s desk to pitch an idea.
Is it possible to be absorbed as a full-time employee after my internship?
If we see the right fit with our Emma DNA, that you were able to take ownership and drive impact during your internship, and if your career goals match what we need and can offer at Emma, there is a good possibility for becoming a full-time employee at Emma once your internship ends.
